selection		 Summary: The results of investigation of contents and quality of willow tannins in the bark of 3 Salix L. species in Karelia onegensis floristic region (Republic of Karelia, Russia) are presented. The taxonomy value of this biochemical sign is discussed. The principals of future selection of tannin willows in Karelia are offered.
